Meet the Owners

Greg & Julie Bohannon
Longleys Pharmacy has been a trusted part of the community for 70 years, serving generations of customers with care and dedication. For over seven years, the pharmacy has been proudly owned and operated by Greg and Julie Bohannon, who continue its longstanding tradition of personalized service.

Greg and Julie Bohannon were born and raised in the greater Chattanooga area. Both attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, as undergraduates, building the foundation for their respective careers. Julie later graduated from Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy in Birmingham, Alabama, where she earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree. After 30 years as a practicing pharmacist, she now focuses much of her time behind the scenes at Longleys Pharmacy while remaining a strong advocate for the profession, especially independent community pharmacy.

Greg Bohannon earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He spent 10 years working as an industrial engineer and operations manager for various Atlanta-based companies before transitioning into pharmacy ownership. Greg and Julie previously owned and operated Thrifty MedPlus Pharmacy in the Ooltewah/Collegedale area for over 20 years. In 2024, Greg earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree and is now in private practice, helping small businesses with a focus on pharmacy-related issues and legislation.

Together, Greg and Julie devote much of their time advocating for independent pharmacy across the region and promoting meaningful legislation to protect small, community pharmacy practices like their own. Outside of travel, they enjoy spending quality time with their two grown daughters, along with their two beloved pugs, Pearl and JoJo.

Julie Bohannon, Pharm.D.

Julie is a graduate of Samford University McWorter School of Pharmacy (1996) in Birmingham, Alabama. Upon receiving her Doctorate of Pharmacy, Julie spent the first 9 years of community practice as a pharmacist for the Kroger Company in Peachtree City, Georgia.
After leaving Kroger, Julie moved back home to purchase her first drugstore from a family friend with her husband, Greg. They owned and operated Thrifty MedPlus for 20 years before deciding to redirect their efforts. Julie still values the role she plays as a small business owner and hometown pharmacist. Much of her time at the pharmacy is dedicated to making Longleys one of the best and most reliable pharmacy retailers in the greater Chattanooga & North Georgia area.
"A happy customer is the foundation of every thriving business," and Julie with the help of her staff is constantly striving to exceed expectations. Outside of work, Julie enjoys spending precious time outdoors with friends and her husband, Greg. Checking off her evolving bucket list is also a priority.
